<span lang="EN-US">Transmission systems are prone to contingency conditions that would either occur using a generator outage or line outage. Placing and sizing the flexible ac transmission (FACTS) devices appropriately can reduce effects of condition. This paper optimally locates FACTS in system under N-1 The genetic algorithm (GA) technique is used locate different, multiple (thyristor-controlled series capacitor static VAR compensator) power system. optimization on IEEE 9 bus MATLAB simulation developed checked for both single placements.
